Connecting to FXS Interfaces

This section describes how to connect the FXS interfaces to FXS equipment such as fax machines, modems, and plain old telephone system (POTS) telephones. FXS cabling can be routed indoors or outdoors, depending on the FXS module used (see FXS Module ).

FXS modules for indoor cabling: The FXS port interface cabling must be routed only indoors and must not exit the building.

Make sure that FXS ports are connected to the appropriate external devices; otherwise, damage to the device may occur.
